Sebastian Valenzuela Diez
CFO | COO
Sebastian has extensive experience in capital markets. He first served as chief of fixed income investments in Consorcio Compañia de Seguros, where he managed investments for $3.5 billion in fixed income and was in charge of planning the investing budget, identifying new investment opportunities, leading the IFRS Committee, growing credit line allocations, and co-developing a new investment module to establish projected revenues of life annuities. Later, he worked as vice president of Bci Securities during the company’s start of operations where he developed a technology plan for the broker-dealer.
Most recently, Sebastian served as CFO of Alta Developers where he coordinated $250 million in new construction loans and implemented new financial controls. This included developing an accounting system that allowed the correct follow up of budget and cost lines for the different projects, as well as a new model to evaluate real estate projects, allowing scenario simulations using different parameters and showing cash flow projections by cost line. These new models and systems were integrated to minimize errors and increase time efficiency.
Sebastian received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the Catholic University of Chile and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business where he graduated with honors and concentrated in finance and economics.
